Weekly Update Week 20

AL East- Well things are no longer a flip flop everyday. In my opinion this past weekend was HUGE for the Yanks, Sox, and Rays. The Yanks have BREATHING ROOM in the Al East. Just like 2006, the Yanks sweep the Sox and the Sox spiraled downward in 2006. This year they have lost 6 straight and face the Tigers and Rangers. The Rays play the Angels (who are good) and Toronto (who is ok). The thing is both team HAVE TO win the Yankees can breath. This is excellent. AL Central-Detroit has not as much breathing room, but a breath here or there. The White Sox and Twins just have to FOCUS! AL West- The Angels are fine as usual and the Rangers have been hot since the break. The Rangers could get into the wild card spot. NL East-Florida swept the Phillies in an exciting series making it only four games in the NL East. NL Central- With Pujols getting ready for the stretch the Cubs have to fight hard and try to do somewhat of what the Yankees did. NL West- The Dodgers and Rockies that is what I want to see in the Playoffs. The Rockies play San Fran twice this month in two three-game series. All they have to do is win those.

Weekly Update Week 19

AL East-The tables have turned again! The Red Sox are only a half game out of first place. My prediction is that this will flip flop all the way into October. What does each team have to do? Win the series. The Yankees especially have to sweep when they play each other, but the Sox want to keep their streak alive. Each team should try to sweep the other team they play this week. The Yankees play Toronto and the Red Sox play the Rays. Personally the Rays, are way out of it to play catchup. The only thing the Rays could do now is help the Yankees stay in first by defeating the Red Sox or help put the Red Sox in first by defeating the Yankees. AL Central-The AL Central is another flip flop division. The White Sox have good stuff, but unfortunately they have to play the hottest team in baseball, the Angels. The Twins play Cleavland so I assume the Twins can be in second by the end of the week. Detroit is in first, but will not stay in first. AL West-As usual, the Angels rule the AL West. Hopefully, they will not mess up in the playoffs like the have a few times before. NL East- The Phillies have the same advantage the Angels do is they rule the division, but when the Phillies get into the playoffs, it will shock them not every team is as bad as an NL East team. As for the trade deadline, the Phillies won it with Cliff Lee. NL Central-Another tight division. The only problem for the Cardinals is Pujols has been flat since mid-July. NL West- All the Dodgers have to do is practice for post-season ball.
