Weekly Update Week 14

Welcome to the Weekly Update. I will do this every Monday until the end of the season. I will go division by division. AL East- LETS GO YANKEES!!! The Yankees are only one sweep behind the Red Sox to gain the first place spot. Being that the Yanks are not playing the best teams this week, the Mariners and the Blue Jays. Unfortunately the first place Red Sox play the even worse Orioles and then Seattle like the Bronx Bombers. It should be very interesting in the middle of the division as the Blue Jays and the Rays battle it out for third place. Honestly I would go with Longoria and his Rays over Halladay and his Jays. AL Central- I do not know what happened in Detroit last year, but they have only lost two of their last ten and seem to just keep getting better. If Mauer pulls his team together then they will succeed, but as of now the Tigers are going to steal this division. AL West- The AL West race is what to watch this week in the American League because everyone is going to be very tough between the Angels and the Rangers. Now Vlad should be in the zone which will make it tougher for the Rangers. NL East- Very tight for an easier division. Watching inter-league play this past weekend realized the American League is going to smoke the National League in St. Louis this year. I believe that the Mets have too many injuries to pass the Phillies, but could get in via the wild card. The Braves do not look too shabby either. NL Central- I've always had a soft spot for the Cubs, but it does not look too good on the Chicago horizon. The Reds are even ahead of the Cubbies! NL West- The Dodgers have no competition with or without Manny.

  1. Detroit has an excellent rotation as well as one of the most feared hitters in the game. Don't discount the Motor City.

As far as the AL east, here is something for you to ponder. The orioles and the rays have the best young talent in the league. In two years, the Sox and the Yankees will be looking up to them.
