Weekly Update Week 15

As baseball awaits the All-Star Break, the divisions are getting tighter. AL East- The Yankees are only one game behind the Red Sox which is very exciting. The Yankees will be on the road this week without a Wang. Posada is their secret weapon right now and probably second best catcher in the game today, only beaten by the Twins leader Joe Mauer. The true challenge of the week for the Yankees is if they can win at least 2 of the 3 games against LA this weekend. The Angels are a very talented team and if the Yankees can take 2 of 3 it will be a sign that the Yanks can not be messed with come October. The Rays are just about out of the playoff race at the moment, but with Longoria leading them can not be counted out. AL Central- The Tigers continue to be great in the AL Central, but nobody should count out Minnesota, and Chicago. Both teams have a decent amount of talent and can steal that division. AL West- WHAT a race! The Angels and the Rangers are TIED. Usually come the All-Star Break the Angels are building a 10 game lead over the second place team. The Rangers just need Hamilton to hit better. NL East- If anyone knows how to lose a close game, it would be the Mets. They have moved to third place and are going down. As for the Marlins, they are only one game behind the Phillies and are cruising up the standings. NL Central- It is still the Brewers game. Even though the Cardinals are in first that will not last long. The Brew Crew may see another playoff berth. NL West- Manny is back. Honestly, he is like an add-on to a stupendous team. With Torre leading them whoever plays the Dodgers should feel fear going through themselves. The Dodgers are pretty safe throughout their division.

  1. don't count out the Rays or the Rockies. The wild card is going to be very wild and no one other than the Nationals, the Royals, the Jays and the Orioles are truly out of it.
